This week artist choice is a mix of psych and rock n roll with heaps of three part harmonies. Of course, we are talking about Edinburgh’s Miracle Glass Company.
The band, made up of William Douglas (Vocals / Bass), Andy Duncan (Vocals / Drums), Austen George (Vocals / Guitar) released their much anticipated debut album MGC1 on VoxBox Records late last October, produced by Owen Murray (The Verve / Oasis). No strangers to the summer festival circuits, or radio plays on BBC 6Music/Radio Scotland with single ’T.R.O.U.B.L.E’ the band are becoming fiercely known for their energetic live shows and intense musicianship.
The band will be playing here in Rare Trade Kilwinning as part of Record Store Day on Saturday 22nd April. 12” vinyl copies of MGC1 will be available too.
April 22nd – Rare Trade (Record Store Day)

This week’s band of the week is five-piece Dunfermilne rock outfit Foreignfox. The band have been on our radar for a while through stellar live performances at majot Scottish festivals including T in the Park, Electric Fields, XPO North.
NEW single ‘Lights Off, Carry Me Home’ is available now on indie label Scottish Fiction. This release is a 7” vinyl with Edinburgh band Mt. Doubt. The single was mastered by Ed Woods, and recorded/mixed from Bruce Rintoul.
Crank this one up folks!
The band will embark on a Scottish tour this weekend:
This week’s artist of the week is THE VEGAN LEATHER.
Describing themselves online as “Art Pop four piece. Creating complex pop music for your soul, mind, hips and feet.” We’re inclined to agree with this, especially after listening to energetic, synth pop on their latest single ‘SHAKE IT’. The band are drawing influence from the electronic soundscapes of Justice, and catchy hooks of LCD Soundsystem – you’re in for a treat with this!
The Paisley four-piece are fast making a name around the UK popping up on Spotify’s most viral acts alongside Drake, and Kasabian, sharing stages with Paolo Nutini, and hosting their own club night ‘Midnight Pink’. You can ‘Shake It’ at the following dates, but we’re certain they’ll be a number of festival appearances around the UK later in the year too. Keep your eyes peeled folks.
This week’s Rare Trade Artist Of The Week is Future Islands! Call them rock, call them indie, synth-pop, the trio from Baltimore, Maryland are in the midst of a giant world tour, which tonight will stop at Glasgow’s 02 Academy.
